Phonics & Number Den is reading and maths practice for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. It has no accounts, adverts, cookies, trackers or analytics, and it never sells personal data.
What stays on this device
The child's name, progress, settings and backups are kept in this browser's storage on this device. They are not synced to an account or a database. A grown-up can export, restore or reset them from Grown-ups settings.
The voice
Everything the app says was generated in advance, before the app was published, with Google's Gemini text-to-speech. Gemini audio carries Google's SynthID watermark, an inaudible mark that identifies it as AI-generated. The recordings ship with the app.
No microphone and no live AI for children
The app never uses the microphone. Nothing a child does is sent to an AI service: every word, question and picture in the children's activities ships with the app.
